OcuSync 3.0: a revolution on all levels

The droneDJIAir 2S benefits from the O3 transmission system (OcuSync 3.0) which is, to date, the most developed signal and image transmission system inDJI. O3 allows fast, clear and reliable video streaming regardless of the obstacles between you and the drone. This transmission allows video feedback at 1080p and with very little latency,DJIestimates it at less than 40 milliseconds. O3 operates on both 2.4 and 5.8Ghz frequencies and allows automatic switching between the two, ensuring an always stable signal whatever the conditions. The four antennas inside the drone ensure better resistance to interference up to 8 km (CE standard). Attention, it is necessary to take into consideration the regulations concerning the distances of piloting, we speak about maximum distances in term of capacities of the drone and not of what it is authorized to do.

The piloting of thisDJIAir 2 is done via the supplied radio control. It also benefits from the O3 system to ensure the connection with the drone. With controls falling under the fingers and ergonomics designed for users, this radio control has already convinced aficionados ofDJIwho had been able to discover it on theDJIMavic Air 2 or theDJIMini 2. The smartphone is to be affixed to the top of the radio housing and works in conjunction with the applicationDJIFly. This allows video feedback as well as access to all the camera settings and the various intelligent modes. The application (and by extension the remote control) are compatible with all types of smartphones: Android or iOS. An exceptional 1-inch sensor at the service of your creativity

Finally, video content creators will be seduced by the presence of a high-end sensor!DJIincorporated a one-inch (1") CMOS sensor into the camera of theDJIAir 2S whose 2.4 micrometer pixels allow more definition and quality in the image. The bitrate (maximum bit rate) reaches 150 Mbit/s and allows smooth and jerk-free file recording. The camera also allows a significant zoom up to 8x in 1080p 30ips (and x4 for 4K30ips). This 1-inch sensor has extremely vivid color dynamics and does wonders in low light thanks to a maximum aperture of f/2.8. The camera is mounted on a 3-axis gimbal to effectively stabilize your shots, even if the drone is in the grip of a strong wind. As such, theDJIAir 2S can withstand winds up to 10.5 meters per second.

APAS 4.0: Obstacle avoidance at the next level

APAS - for Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems - is included in thisDJIAir 2S in its 4.0 version. The drone is equipped with various visual and ToF sensors to form a virtual protection bubble in the event of an impact. The sensors will be able to determine where the obstacles are but also at what distance. The drone's internal firmware then interprets these signs and gives the order to the drone to stop before the chance encounter with the obstacles. APAS 4.0 is based on a map design algorithm, which "maps" the environment of the drone permanently. Detection is done in four directions: forward, backward, up and down from the drone. A real safety device, the obstacle avoidance system allows the drone to evolve in a complicated environment by avoiding poles, branches and other small objects. Coupled with the drone's automatic modes such as those related to tracking, APAS 4.0 proves to be an assistant always keeping an eye on the drone and surrounding obstacles.

Flight modes designed for creators

DJIhas again included some semi-automatic flight modes created to assist you in shooting your shots. A brief overview of whatDJIAir 2S offers you:


Hyperlapses are a succession of photographs taken over a more or less long time interval, compiled into a dynamic video showing the effect of time on a place. The Hyperlapse mode of theDJIAir 2S offers 4 trajectories:

Free: The drone manages the taking of photos but you determine its movements at any time throughout the duration of the shooting;

Circle: Choose a point of interest and let the drone fly around it taking the photos in sequence;

Course Lock: Determine the orientation of the drone and let it evolve in it while taking the series of photos;

Waypoints: Select points of interest through which the drone will pass during the realization of the hyperlapse.


FocusTrack is artificial intelligenceDJIwho supports you in the realization of your plans. It includes different modes mainly based on following a determined subject, you just have to choose it by drawing a square around it on the applicationDJIFly:

SpotLight 2.0: Fly freely while the drone's camera focuses all its attention on your subject, regardless of the drone's movements;

Active Track 4.0: Select "Trace" or "Parallel" and the drone will maintain a constant distance or angle to your subject, always keeping them the center of attention;

Point of Interest 3.0 (POI 3.0): Determine the radius and distance from your subject and the drone will fly around it in a circle with a speed set by you.


MasterShots makes its first appearance on this droneDJIAir 2S. It's an advanced creation mode that allows you to create the best shots instantly. Simply select the subject you want to focus on and the drone will perform a series of 10 maneuvers while filming the subject. The appDJIFly will assemble these images and offer you a short cinematic video montage automatically.


QuickShots are ultra-fast shots taken by the drone. There are six of them with different perspectives and movements: dronie, rocket, circle, spiral, boomerang and asteroid.
