The quality of the wood:
The larch, which produces a wood that is very resistant to time. It benefits from a strong natural durability and its excellent mechanical properties make it appreciated for its uses in structure and in external conditions. This is why it is frequently called the "mountain oak". In addition, it is naturally rot-proof. All these qualities make it an excellent choice for the construction of our henhouses.
In comparison with low-cost products from Asia, which use 8 to 12 mm boards, France-Poulailler has chosen to assemble its henhouses with 19mm thick solid panels, which gives very good rigidity and robustness, excellent longevity, natural thermal insulation, absence of deformation due to changes in climates and humanity. In addition, the very good quality of the wood and panels gives the henhouses a significant weight which has the advantage of making the interior very stable.
The use of solid panels is of paramount importance to naturally control red mites in chickens. Indeed the absence of interstices prevents this parasite from settling and thus proliferating there.
The peculiarity of the roofs of our henhouses lies in the fact that the panels are previously covered with a layer of shingle. What is the shingle? It is a shingle also called Canadian shingle which is a completely hermetic and UV resistant coating, generally of asphalt color, often used to cover roofs. Our shingle is covered with gravel available in different colors. The advantage of this solution because of its shape and its material is to make the box airtight and to make infiltration impossible. In comparison to other models available on the market which use protective strips, but allow water to infiltrate and ultimately degrade the wood.
All the henhouses are mounted on galvanized steel feet, they are adjustable in height (0-3cm) which allows the base not to be in direct contact with the ground and thus prevent premature degradation.
Mounting :thanks to a system of assembly fittings pre-mounted on the panels, the assembly of the henhouse on delivery is very easy and requires only one screwdriver.
The roofs can be completely dismantled without tools to allow you to carry out major cleanings, a stroke of a squeegee or a water jet is very simple!
The hinged side door allows the floor to slide for quick and easy cleaning (tip: You can put a piece of lino on the floor to facilitate the evacuation of soiled shavings and straws).
The cockpit is divided into two parts: the dormitory and its perch and the nest with a hinged door on the side which facilitates the collection of eggs or for models with additional nesting places, the roof is removable.

With the exception of the Lina and Lina + model, the henhouses have a shelter for your hens under the main living area, allowing them to protect themselves from the wind and the rain.
The dormitory access door is pivoting and allows opening and closing from outside the park. You can also install an electronic door entry unit without any modification.
The access ramp allows the hens to climb into the dormitory with a perch.
At the ridge of the roofs 1 cm of space allows ventilation and evacuation of the mist without creating drafts.
A carrying handle allows you to move the chicken coop around your green space effortlessly.
France-Poulailler is the only manufacturer of 6-sided chicken pens, that is to say that the part in contact with the ground is also screened which prevents any intrusion by foxes, dogs or cats which can attack the hens. It is nevertheless quite possible to easily remove this face for people who do not wish to keep it.
Another technical characteristic is the resistance of the wire mesh, made of 1.8 mm steel wire (indestructible by large pests) hot-dip galvanized with a mesh of 1.9 x 1.9 cm.
The frames are in Douglas-fir wood (if you choose the paint option, the frames will not be painted).
They are easy to install with a hook system that allows them to be attached to the henhouses.
An undeniable advantage of our henhouses lies in its modularity, thanks to its system of assembly fittings, it is quite possible to mount the access door to the living area on the left as well as on the right.
If you have purchased a model without nest extension and want to acquire additional hens, it is possible with a small feasible modification to even order 1 or 2 additional nesting boxes (all necessary parts are provided).
Chicken pens are available in many sizes and it is always possible to extend the length later.
On the Mika and Piou models, the hen shelters (feet) are interchangeable if you want a larger or smaller henhouse.
